《南海姑娘》纪录短片

南海姑娘，“南海”代表了中国东南沿海地带，也是“男孩”的谐音。福建省，我的家乡，是中国宗族气氛浓厚的地方，也因此衍生重男轻女气氛。片子通过追问90年代独生子女政策下母亲的生育故事，奶奶和我感情的建立，以及姐姐在三胎政策下的生育困境，来讨论三代女性的地位问题，以及非单向的情感复杂性。当我发现她们都被时代没有意识地裹挟着时，我开始理解她们。片子用多媒体方式呈现外，也选择肢体语言，我进入到镜头里，表达和感受“和解”。

“Nanhai Girl” Short Documentary Film

„Nanhai Girls“ is the title of a famous pop song that is also a play on words in Mandarin.  Nanhai means the South China Sea, and it also sounds like the word for “boy.” This project reveals my frustration as a girl growing up in Fujian, a province of China where clan culture is extremely male dominant.  Women are treated as economic resources – or burdens. As a girl, growing up in this conventional value, I have some confusion and pain. Through a mixture of my diaries, videos, media clippings, and photos, I try to understand the generational changes for women, family relationships and happiness.
